There is no such thing as ready….
Feb 23, 2022I wanted to quickly share something with you that has really served me well - and my hope is it may also be of benefit to you.
In fact - I first heard what I want to share with you - from the British actor and comedian - Hugh Laurie.
He once famously said:
“There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now."
This really made me stop in my tracks and think.
Because it's 100% true.
👉 NONE of us are EVER ready for anything 👈
There is NEVER the perfect time to start your business, write your book, become a parent, begin that health regime, start learning the guitar...
If you wait for the perfect time to start something, you'll be waiting a long time.
Instead, the key is to take imperfect action.
Even if that action is uncertain, wavering, and shaky.
At least you have started towards your intended goal.
😀✨ The key is to start whatever you want to do - even when you don't have everything perfectly prepared and planned. ✨😀
Because perfectionism is the enemy of profitability.
"No one is ever ready"
Focus on tiny, daily, baby steps.
That's the secret.
Incremental growth.
Imperfect action.
Get 1% better every day.
"No one is ever ready"
The following poem (by Guillaume Apollinaire) sums this up perfectly.
"Come to the edge," he said.
"We can't, we're afraid!" they responded.
"Come to the edge," he said.
"We can't, we will fall!" they responded.
"Come to the edge," he said.
And so they came.
And he pushed them.
And they flew."
